Twinkling

Aren’t you a breath of fresh air?

There’s a twinkle in your eyes.

There’s a light they bear.

Aren’t you a big boy now?

There’s zeal in your eyes.

A fire under those brows.

Aren’t you wearing glasses?

There’s pain in your eyes.

A little bit of sadness.

Aren’t you carrying a smile?

The happiness just shines.

A beauty you have had all this while.

Haven’t you seen too much?

There’s weariness inside.

A hand with fists clenched.

I did not lose my twinkle.

I do not want to lose my light.

Life might slip away…

let me hold on tight.

Haven’t you clutched it all along?

Your grip is too strong.

Nothing would slip away.

Just let it pass on.
